Martinez Disaster Response Center (UMCOR Warehouse) Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are invited to assist with verifying and processing UMCOR kits at the warehouse.  Individuals or small groups can participate in “First Saturday” or teams can schedule a trip to the Center as a mission opportunity.

First Saturday:  the first Saturday of each month (except for holiday week-ends) are set work days at the center. For planning purposes, please email the warehouse coordinator (warehouse@riotexasresponse.org) if you plan to participate.

Group mission opportunities: There are usually opportunities for volunteer teams to assist with managing the resources at the Martinez Disaster Response Center in Kerrville, Texas. For more information on the current needs, contact the Warehouse Coordinator at warehouse@riotexasreponse.org. Please use the following form to register your team.  Provide as much information as you know at this time.  Once completed, we will follow up with you to compare current needs with our capacity for volunteers during the calendar dates you have requested. Please check with us about potential dates before you finalize them with your teams. Thank you for your interest!

Volunteer teams are not required to participate in cost sharing but gifts to help offset materials cost are always welcome.

Please email any questions to warehouse@riotexasreponse.org

Youth: Please note that at this time we are only accepting youth volunteers 8th grade and older. Adult to youth ratio should be a minimum of 1:5, please.  Teams from the Rio Texas Conference must comply with Trusted con Confianza policy regarding the safety of children, youth and vulnerable adults.  Teams from outside the conference are expected to comply with the safety policy of their conference.
